Yesterday Honda announced it was recalling almost 400,000 vehicles from its 2003 and 2004 models of the Accord, Civic, and Element. Honda is recalling the vehicles in prevention of a malfunction of the ignition interlock feature. If the ignition interlock is damaged or worn, it becomes possible to take out the key when the vehicle is not in Park. If the vehicle isn’t in park and the emergency brake isn’t engaged, the vehicle could roll away.
Consumers can expect to be notified in late September with information regarding the recall and what to do if their vehicle needs repairs.
